Hello Michael’s House alumni,
Ijoined the team at Michaels House in October 2010 to help develop and revitalize the Alumni Program. What a blessing to have come into my life! I love working with the alumni community locally and across the country. For me, there is nothing more incredible than seeing a fellow recovering alcoholic and/or addict regain that sparkle in their eyes and to hear the voice of hope for a brighter future.
My goal as the Alumni Coordinator is to personally foster a continuing connection with Michael’s House. With each call I look forward to hearing where you are now and what is life bringing to you. My hope is to encourage you to get involved in your local 12-step program and to utilize the resources that were suggested so it will enhance and make your recovery more manageable to maintain.
Staying connected is key to achieving long-term sobriety.
The experience of recovery can be joyful. It is also my goal to provide events, workshops, retreats and support groups for your active participation. By your participation you are sharing the gift of recovery with others. I would love to receive and publish your “your story” for our newsletter. You can refer friends and family members to Michael’s House. Volunteer to speak at Michael’s House events or to celebrate your yearly sobriety date. Become an alumni contact for new Michael’s House graduates. And, of course join us at our annual alumni reunion.
There is no “originally from” with me, I am from a little bit of everywhere: Midwest, East Coast, West Coast. I am mostly a California girl though, and lived here in the desert while in my 20s and 30s. Like so many people who have lived here before, I returned in 2008. Outside work you’ll find me spending time with my son, cooking, reading, being of service and generally loving life.
I value and welcome your thoughts, ideas and suggestions for the Alumni Program. Please email me! I look forward to getting to know you.
Zigi Graham
