Greetings La Paloma alumni,
Iam honored to have the purposeful and rewarding task of interacting with the patients here at La Paloma and connecting with La Paloma alumni and families. I enjoy planning and coordinating meaningful, unique, and fun experiences that help us build relationships and widen our circle of support and recovery.
I formerly worked as a counselor in the Memphis City School system. There I developed a youth employment program, a no-bullying policy, and an after-school art program. I also taught a fitness class to the teachers, administration, and support staff.
After seven years in the school system, I took a leap of faith and began my own business. I was fortunate to be able to combine my two passions, art and fitness, into my work. I became a personal trainer and also taught various fitness classes throughout the city. In addition I started my own framing business and held several art shows featuring my pieces and the work of others. Working as a free agent brought challenges, gratification, and self-awareness. I hope to bring some of this creative energy to our alumni events, and I welcome ideas and feedback from all of you.
I am thankful to be surrounded by a compassionate and dedicated staff. I am also profoundly grateful to be in such a beautiful and serene setting where I find time to enjoy the fresh air and blue skies. Moreover, I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve you, our alumni. Together, I look forward to helping you tap in to your fullest potential.
Warm regards,
Carol Ricossa
